WAPA is endorsing the event and our Chairperson Henk Kleynhans will share a panel discussion on spectrum management with Dumisa Ngwenya from ICASA(GM, Engineering & Technology) at 15:00 on Tuesday, 15 March:

“Exploring current issues around spectrum management and regulation”

• Outlining current spectrum availability and usage in South Africa

• When is new spectrum likely to be released, particularly in the higher frequency bands?

• Quantifying the spectrum requirements of current and future mobile broadband technologies and determining the potential for spectrum re-use

• Exploring options for spectrum sharing between operators. What are the benefits? To what extent is spectrum sharing likely in the foreseeable future?
