Thu, 11/09/2014 - 11:37
Following the success of the first Future Wireless Technologies Forum (FWTF), held in Johannesburg earlier this year, and support for more discussions of this nature, WAPA will be hosting the second forum at iWeek annual Internet industry conference. The Future Wireless Technologies Forum is a series of collaborative discussions hosted by WAPA, the purpose of which is to explore trends, best practices, and opportunities for new wireless technologies and solutions in the context of the regulatory framework of South Africa. The FWTF II will focus on Licence-Exempt Spectrum, and cover the following:
  • Effective management of licence-exempt spectrum in SA
  • The case for allocating more spectrum as licence-exempt: 5 GHz, 17 GHz, 24 GHz
  • Alternative licensing strategies for TVWS (licensed vs licence-exempt)
  • Date: Wednesday, 17 September 2014
