Wireless Connectivity and Infrastructure Solutions
Snowball has built a wireless network that spans most of the Western Cape from Gordon’s Bay to Koeberg, including Stellenbosch, Cape Town, and Simonstown. We own and operate the entire network consisting of more than 50 base stations and thousands of radios servicing many thousands of users.

Data Centre Solutions
Snowball has built a data centre in Technopark Stellenbosch from where we offer a range of hosting services. The data centre was designed by Infrastructure Solutions and all key components of the data centre was built with redundancy in mind. At our facility redundant components include UPS, separate distinct power feeds to each cabinet, air conditioning and generators. The facility is highly secure with biometric access and CCTV throughout the entire complex.

We offer both Linux and Windows shared website hosting as well as Virtual Private Server (also know as VPS or Cloud hosting), Dedicated Server and Co-location Hosting.

History and Vision

Snowball is an Internet solutions and web development company that was founded 1998 by Eugene and Storm van der Merwe. Both founders are still managing the company today.

Snowball has a very clear and defined strategy to enable our clients to maximise their investment in the Internet and related technologies.

Our overall strategy is that of data services. At the core of our network lies a state of the art, fully redundant data centre. This is the heart of our operation and where the bulk of our investment goes.
